About Writerial
Writerial is a group writing community, where a number of young authors band together to share their work. Started by Jessica Rose wanting to have a place to share her writing, she started publishing her work on the blog. The name "Writerial" was a combination of "Writer" and "Material" that they really enjoyed (and definitely didn't steal from one of those random website URL generator things...) so they adopted it. Jessica later reached out to some other young writers who joined the team. Together, they run the website, blog, and Instagram (@writerial_) in order to share their work with the world! Owner: Jessica Rose (she/her)
I started writing my first story when I was seven years old, based on a dream that I'd had the previous night. I spent the next morning taking pieces of paper from my grandparents' office and scribbling a story on to them. Naturally, as I was a first-grader, the story wasn't exactly Noble Prize winning material. However, that was when writing really got its claws into me. I knew that the need for that feeling of having a pen in my hand and a whole world to create would never let me go. A decade later, here I am. My name is Jessica Rose. I'm a high-school senior, and I've been running this blog for the last four years. Some writers might be ashamed of having their cringey middle-school poetry on a format where literally anyone can see it, but I just use that fact to motivate me to write newer, fresher cringey poetry so as to bury the old stuff. Right now, I'm trying to balance extracurriculars, running a writing blog, and publishing a book along with the normal duties of being a senior, so I apologize for any inconsistencies. I'd really appreciate it if you'd stick around and see where this awesome journey takes us. If you'd like to stay updated, my socials are below. Your local teenage author will keep you supplied with plenty of new content! I love y'all!
Staff: Ezra Gray (they/them)
Hey y'all. You can call me Ezra. I certainly haven't been writing as long as Jess has, but ideas have been steering my thoughts for years now. My first writing project was done with two friends of mine, and I have to say, if I ever see that thing again, it will be too soon. Now, I generally dabble around and create whatever interests me. When Jess started talking about changing Writerial to an author profile I said, "Why not recruit some other people to help you run it?"
And then she recruited me.
And then she recruited me.
