Write a poem or story without conflict. -Anonymous
The sun is shining The grass is green The sky is blue It looks like a movie scene You lay out a blanket I lay next to you And for those few hours I've not a care in the world Surrounded by flowers Breathing in the sweet fresh air My fears melt away My worries are gone How is it that your arm around my shoulders Can make me feel so strong It's like with your presence There is absolutely no conflict Some might say it's boring But I I'll keep on adoring You and your strong arms That keep me away from conflict

Stars blazed in the night sky.
https://www.dailywritingtips.com/writing-prompts-101/ Stars blazed in the night sky I stare up at them and can’t help but wonder why Why are we so small and insignificant When the universe is so vast Why does life go by so quickly Why do the good parts never last Stars blazed in the night sky My vision blurs as I start to cry The bright and dark start to mix Until the sky is blotches of black and white The dark isn’t as consuming When you can see the light Stars blazed in the night sky I stare up at them and start to understand why We may be insignificant But if we can mix the dark Our lives won’t be as useless In the hearts where we spark The story of a scar.
https://thewritepractice.com/short-story-ideas/ TW: Physical and mental abuse My nephew sits before me And he stares down at my thigh. He runs a ringer along the line And all he says is “why?” The memories start to return, Coming back through years. I give him a small smile. My eyes are shining behind tears. “Alright let me tell you. Sit down, don’t go far. Let me share with you The story of this scar. “Young walruses, we must all adapt!” begins Matthew Olzmann’s “Commencement Speech, Delivered to a Herd of Walrus Calves,” published in Four Way Review. In the poem, as the title reveals, a speaker offers advice to a herd of walruses on courage, evolution, and survival: “You need to train yourself to do what they won’t expect.” Write a poem in the form of a speech addressed to a group of animals or objects that offers advice and encouragement for challenges only the subject could encounter. Try to use the title, as Olzmann does, to set the scene and the tone for the poem. https://www.pw.org/content/commencement
I have a word to give to you: Hold them fast and hold them true. For as a blanket your job is sure, Be strong and sturdy forever more. First of all it’s pretty easy: Be soft and warm and rather breezy. Bring comfort to the home you serve, And your title you’ll deserve. Next is one you must obey: You can never knot or tear or fray. For as a blanket your job is sure, Be strong and sturdy forever more. Last on the list is most rough: You have to be there when times are tough. Be right there and be alright To keep them there throughout the night. Hold their head and dry their tears. Protect them from all their fears. For as a blanket your job is sure, Be strong and sturdy forever more. |
