“The experiment 245 is a success, madam. We have gathered a lot of valuable data. The planet is ready to be terminated”
“Right. Send in the humans.” https://writing-prompt-s.tumblr.com/ NOTE: Okay, so I immediately saw this post and thought, “corrupt God.” So, this is gonna be from the POV of a God called Deus (that’s the Latin translation for God if there’s a religion based around something like that I’m so sorry, mean no disrespect, it’s just an easy way to name characters). I don’t mean to be rude or disrespect anyone’s religion, I’m just writing a story to fit a cool prompt. Anyways, here it is. Enjoy! :) Deus looked out at the crumbling disaster that was Earth. Experiment 001 had failed miserably. What was supposed to be the grandest, greatest universe of all time had completely blown up in her face. She kicked the wall in anger. “Madam?” one of her servants asked. He peeked through the doorway, looking uncomfortable. “Come in, come in,” Deus said, embarrassed by her outburst. “What is it? Is there any progress on Experiment 245?” “Not yet, no,” he said. Experiment 245 was the last piece of information they needed to finish the weapon of mass destruction-the thing that would destroy the failure of Experiment 001 once and for all. The servant sighed. “I’m sorry, madam.” “Don’t be,” Deus said. “It isn’t your fault-it’s mine. I never should’ve created this damned thing in the first place.” “Don’t say that, there are plenty of good things in this universe,” the servant said. Deus raised an unbelieving eyebrow. “Well, it’s a step forward. Soon you’ll be able to create a much better universe that won’t have to be terminated.” “I hope so,” Deus sighed, though she was still unconvinced. The door burst open. “Madam, we have news!” Deus cringed at the informal introduction. "Yes, what is it?” “There have been updates on Experiment 245. Command center says that it may even be the final step.” Deus felt her heart swell in elation. “You mean it? Really?” “Really,” the servant said. There was really no reason to ask, everyone knew to not fool Deus like that. “I’m getting a call on my monitor right now. Yes, hello?” The servant stood still, nodding along to the monitor. “Alright, yes, thank you. Yes, I’ll tell her.” “So?” Deus asked. “The weapon of mass destruction is ready,” the servant said. “The experiment 245 is a success, madam. We have gathered a lot of valuable data. The planet is ready to be terminated.” “Right,” Deus said, struggling to regain her composure after such joy filled her soul. Finally, this mistake-a permanent burn on her record-would be gone forever. She decided to use the informal nickname for the experiment. “Send in the humans.”
