Write a story about a character who would be described above all else as "logical."https://blog.reedsy.com/creative-writing-prompts/general/write-a-story-about-a-character-who-would-be-descr/ Kayla was not an emotional person. In fact, it was probably the last adjective that someone would use to describe her. She never lost her cool, even when she was most angered. No one had ever seen her cry, even at her weakest moments. She was never stopped by any puzzle; she could think her way out of anything. She was, in every way, completely logical. So why did she find herself here, sitting on the toilet in the girl’s bathroom, weeping for what seemed like the first time in forever? Why? Why did she seem so weak? Why did she feel as if she had no control over her own body or mind or thoughts? It served her right. Everyone had always told her that boys were dangerous; that they would cause her more pain than almost anything, but she hadn’t listened. After all, she was the one who controlled what pain was caused to her. She had controlled this. But she had no idea it was going to be this bad. The door on the stall shook. “Kayla? Kayla are you in there?”
“Go away,” she sniffled. “Are you crying?” “I said go away!” Kayla’s best friend Loretta stuck her head through the gap at the bottom of the stall. “Oh my God, are you okay?” Kayla scowled. “I told you to go away.” “And I didn’t listen.” Loretta crawled through the gap, facing Kayla. “What’s going on? Why are you crying?” “Why do you think?” “Is it because of Wayne?” Loretta asked. Kayla nodded. “Oh honey…” “Why am I like this? I’ve never cried! And a boy of all things,” she trailed off as tears filled her eyes. “But here I am. Why?” “You caught feelings.” “Make them go away.” Loretta smiled sadly. “I wish I could.” “I was fine with it, you know that? I was fine with him and I was fine with her and I was fine with everything. But then I saw them and…” her voice was cut off again by her sobs. “I don’t want to be like this.” “You won’t for forever,” Loretta promised. “Now get up.” “What? Why?” “Well we’re not going to leave you here sobbing in this stall forever. Come on, Kayla. The only way that you know how strong you are is if you test your arms to push yourself back up.” “But what if I’m not strong enough?” “Then the harder you push, the stronger you’ll be. And one day, you’ll be able to push yourself up,” Loretta said. “But for the record, you’re not like that. You’re strong enough. You have a fire in your soul and it can’t be crushed. But you’ll never know it if you don’t get back up again.” “Thank you Loretta.” “Anytime,” she smiled. Loretta and Kayla left the bathroom. Kayla’s eyes were still red and puffy; tear stains still ran down her face. But she didn’t try to hide it; for as logical as Kayla was, this was a sign of the emotion that she could feel. And maybe that emotion wasn’t such a bad thing.
