I meet her eyes across the room.
I see her smile light up her face.
And I know that it’s still wrong,
But my love I can’t erase.
I know how you look at her
And I’m sorry I can’t trust you to know,
But we feel exactly the same
So you can’t know I love her so.
It’s what you don’t know;
It’s the only thing I keep from you.
The knowledge hurts me every day
The stress and the pain
Of what I cannot say,
But I can’t lose you.
And I can’t lose her.
So it’s the one thing you can’t know.
It’s what you don’t know.
